Did you receive your first month of student finance for a bachelor programme in the period September 2015 up to and including August 2019? And did you obtain your diploma in time? This means you were eligible for a study voucher for a new degree programme.
Instead of the voucher, you will now be given a sum of money. That will be offset against your student debt or paid out to you if you no longer have any outstanding student debt. In this case, it no longer matters if you start a new degree programme or not.
Conditions
Until 1 September 2023 you can still use the old study voucher scheme. All conditions for the old and the new system are listed on the Study voucher page.
Start date
The change from study voucher to money will take effect from 1 September 2023. The earliest the amount will be granted is January 2025. More about the amount and payment
No need to apply
You do not need to apply for the compensation. You will automatically receive a notice from DUO.
